Witness report free essay sample
What method of evangelism did you use and how did you start the conversation? I used the Friendship method; I was drawn to that method because of the person in which I choose to witness to. My son was not my first choice, but it happen Just as it was supposed to. I questioned the friendship method at first, but I came to understand friendship was Just a metaphor for friends, family, stranger, and anyone else whom could fit into that category. I picked my son, because I felt he was he right person at that moment to witness to.He and I were engaged in a conversation about angel. Not the angel who are in Heaven, but the angel which there was a TV show that he and I use to love to watch once upon a time. Anyway, he was watching the DVD of the show In his room. We will write a custom essay sample on Witness report or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page There was a part that triggered his curiosity, so he came to ask me a question about It. I knew that was my opportunity to witness to him since he was already on the page about demons. I asked my son what if all of that was true about what was going on in the show, he said some of it is true. I asked him what part he thinks is true, he responded. The part when angel lost his soul. I asked him if angel lost his soul for real what would happen. He said they showed what would happen on the show, angel became a beast named Angels. After that answer, I asked him, can I share something with you, he said share what? How good God is. God is a good God; He is always there for you and me. He will give you everything your heart desire, all you have to do is ask. All he asks for in return is your love and devotion to him and only him. He said, you always ask me that. Then, I seed him do he believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he answered yes. Do you ever think about Glenn your life to the Lord? I began to tell him; remember when I told you I received Christ as my savior? It was a life changing experience for me; all kinds of doors have open for me. God can do the same for you if you are willing to give Him a chance. Step out on faith, because faith comes from what is heard and what is heard comes by the preaching of God. It depends on how you hear. Faith comes by hearing only if you have the right attitude. I told my son you can confess our sins right her right now.I also told him, I love the Lord and I can and will praise him anywhere, because he is that good to me. PART TWO What was the reaction (questions/comments/statements) of the unbeliever? My son reaction to what I said to him was like always, he gave me all the reasons why he could not totally commit to God at this time. One thing he said really shocked me because he never said It before. He began to say, I am saved. I talk to God all the time not only to ask for things, but to talk to him Just to see how he Is doing and whether or not I am making he right decision about things.I told my son that Is good, but that does not make you save. You have to go though the Son in order to see the Father. He knew what he is still saved, he Just does not have the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Right now he feels he is too young to have the full package. I told him you are never too young to serve God. If He comes back today you will be lost. You are old enough now that you carry your own sins. I cannot go for you. You have to do that all by yourself. He said he knows that too. He is not ready to commit his life at this time. Witness Report free essay sample ââ¬Å"Witness Reportâ⬠PART ONE ââ¬â What method of evangelism did you use and how did you start the conversation? The method of evangelism that I used was the Apostles Evangelism. The reason why I choose this type of evangelism is because it gives the entire plan of salvation including the baptism. This plan of salvation gives scriptures throughout not just one particular book in the bible. We had a teenager to come and visit our church and I knew by one of the members that the teenager has had some difficult situations in her family life and all she had left is to try Jesus. The member wanted me to talk with the teenager about salvation. I started the conversation out by asking, ââ¬Å"Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? â⬠Some situations one has to be very direct and this one of these situations. The teenager stated she has not received the Holy Ghost. We will write a custom essay sample on Witness Report or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I then asked if she has been baptized in Jesus name. The teenager stated that she has not; various scriptures in Acts were read to her. There are other scriptures to back up the book of Acts such as I Corinthians, Romans and Galatians but time and the situation did not permit to go into other books of the Bible. PART TWO ââ¬â What was the reaction (questions/comments/statements) of the unbeliever? The reaction of the teenager was a little confused but interested in what I had explained to her. The teenager had seen the others dancing and speaking in unknown tongue so I believed she wanted that same type of joy. She wanted to know about the Holy Ghost. I began to explain what the Holy Ghost was and gave her scripture. I told her the evidence that she has the Holy Ghost is that she would speak in an unknown tongue; but no one could give her this but the Lord. She also wanted to know what she had to do in order to receive the Holy Ghost. I explained to her all she needed to do is just believe; she did not have tarrying around the altar as I once did. I told her Hallelujah is the highest praise if she wanted to do that she could or began to just thank the Lord for what he has already done in her life. The teenager began to say, ââ¬Å"Hallelujahâ⬠. PART THREE ââ¬â How did you conclude the conversation in order to follow up? We began to tarrying with the teenager and she finally received the gift of the Holy Ghost. The teenager realized that she was speaking in tongues and announced it to the church. We began to rejoice because another soul has been added to the kingdom; not so much the church in which so many people forget these days. She has not been baptized as of yet but she is waiting to do the next step. We are renting a building that does not have a pool but we will be baptizing her very soon at another facility. I had already read to her Acts 2:38 and some other scriptures explaining about the baptism. We gave her a welcome packet which included a brochure, calendar magnet, business cards and a postcard that have all of the church information in the packet. The following Sunday; she received a certificate giving her the date that she received the Holy Ghost so that she can remember that special date she was born again. The teenager also joined the church and has been coming faithfully in spite of the struggles that are going on her family life.

Musical Controversy essays
Musical Controversy essays There is a kind of music, which is commonly referred to as Pop music. It attracts a variety of Americans of very different geographical, racial, and economical backgrounds. Some of the most popular artists these days that are considered Pop are NSync, Britney Spears (who, having recently turned eighteen, doesnt seem to mind letting the guys know that shes legal now), Cristina Aguilera, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, and Tupac Shakur. It would take a thousand pages to describe the entire commercial and cultural aspects of the music industry, so I will talk about the hip-hop community. Some hip-hop is commonly referred to as Pop music, simply because it is popular with a wide variety of crowds. I intend to show you how the different types of crowds under the Pop category interact with one another, especially at popular awards ceremonies, such as the recent MTV Video Music Awards 00. MTVs largest show and party of every year is their Video Music Awards, celebrated in 1999 on 9/9/99. In 2000, it was highlighted by performances by Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers), NSync, a side of Britney Spears which brought a chuckle from a few early Madonna haters, and others. In an interview with reporters before the show, 26 year-old white rapper Eminem stated It aint often you get so many people that I dont like into one room together. Eminems relationship with the music industry is a strange one you either love him or you hate him. He openly hates gays, women, and children. He is being petitioned to be arrested by a national gay rights activist group for his homophobic lyrics and attitude. So, you ask, why is he such a loved character if he is so shady? His most recent album, The Marshall Mathers LP, sold 1.7 million copies its first week the most for any single artist in history. Also notable for comment is that he a...

Default Determination Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Default Determination - Term Paper Example This paper thus is going to handle and talk about the termination by default or default termination to every detail while analyzing everything that it entails, as well as the remedy of default termination in the context of federal procurement in reference to the nature of the course. In termination for default, the government always wants to have the upper hand on the contract hence always trying to make sure that the contract is always to their advantage. So in that case, in order for the government to prevail in the defense of a termination by default, the government must establish that the termination of the contract by default prior to the contract completion date was effective, proper and correct. Since this default termination is such a drastic action, the federal procurement must show how its determination was well grounded and had no hidden motive or agenda, and is supported by solid evidence. Moreover, the agency must show/demonstrate through convincing evidence that there was no reasonable likelihood that the contractor could complete the work in time as agreed. The untimely performance of work which does not affect the critical path does not provide a basis for a default termination. The above said, there are suggestions that it is improper for the government to terminate a contractor for his or her failure to make progress where the contactor had reason to be expected to complete the work to finish the job contracted fro in due time. In such cases the federal procurement must consider all available factors and reasons when they are determining whether to terminate a contractor using the default termination. Moreover, if the totality of the state of affairs shows or indicates the unsupported and arbitrary nature of the decision to terminate for default the law requires conversion of the action to termination for convenience. There are laws put in reference to this type of termination

Bauhaus and Modernism Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Bauhaus and Modernism - Essay Example This essay discusses that the main concepts of the Bauhaus began in Germany in the early 1900s, specifically when World War I and World War II began to dominate the lifestyles of those in the region. The philosophy was based on the changes that were within society and how this led to different perspectives of what was important to those in a given culture. The basis of this was known as being a logical positivist, which embraced futuristic and avant ââ¬â garde ideologies. It was understood that this particular concept of philosophy was one that not only demanded the change toward mathematical and economic associations with art. There were also values that were placed on the changing culture, specifically because of the wars which were taking place. As the report declares, Europe and America began to experience a profound shift in sensibility that would lead to an explosion of creativity in the arts, transform moral values, and in time reshape the conduct of life throughout Western societyâ⬠This basis was followed by other concepts which were associated with the understanding of Bauhaus and the movement toward modernism in Germany. The art and architectural forms that were a part of the movement were one of the main associations made with the Bauhaus movement. The philosophy developed was based on simplistic forms and colors as well as a synthesis between the two. Unification of the forms and colors were then able to create a different focus on the ideology of the subject and what was being said.... This essay stresses that the desire to create a sense of innovation and modernism then became reflective of the ideologies of the Bauhaus movement, specifically in trying to find a definition that created the perception of modernism. The similarities of defining modernism then became a part of the art and architecture that was in both America and Europe. When looking at the different movements and the artistic works, it can be seen that there are similarities specifically in the definition and philosophy of modernism. When looking at these two artistic concepts, it can be seen that there is a direct relationship to creating shapes, forms and specific colors with the art. The Bauhaus perspective is based on incorporating mathematical concepts and philosophies of technology, specifically to re-identify art into a modernist perspective. The later work of Dove uses these same philosophies, specifically which takes the subject matter of the mountains and makes it into what one could define as a modernist work. The concept of Bauhaus and the American modernist movement have changed the way that many looks at the idea of modernism. Bauhaus worked as the precursor to American modernism with several philosophies, including the art, craft, and philosophy of defining modernism. The early influences of those that were a part of America from the Bauhaus movement, as well as the incorporation of different ideologies in trying to find the meaning of modernism led to different understandings that created the modernist philosophies.

The Story of a Mother Essay Example for Free
The Story of a Mother Essay Sisa ran quickly home, confused. She feared that the civil guards may have arrested his son Basilio already. When she reached home, she saw the two civil guards leaving with only her hen. She tried to walk past them but the civil guards caught her and demanded to know where her sons are. Sisa begged the guards for mercy, saying she does not know where her sons are nor does she have the gold coins they are accusing Crispin of stealing. With no other recourse, the civil guards forcibly brought her back to the barracks. Sisa, to spare her from humiliation, begged them to at least allow her some distance between them. The civil guards obliged, giving her a distance of 20 steps. They eventually reached the barracks and Sisa was imprisoned. Not wanting to bother themselves of inquiring about her, no one bothered to report to the alferez. After two hours, the alferez, rival of the curate, dismissed Father Salviââ¬â¢s allegations against her and ordered her to be freed. Sisa hurriedly ran back home once again but did not find Basilio. She ran to Tasio the Sage but he was not home. Instinctively, she went home and upon entering the hut, she saw a piece of torn and bloodied cloth from Basilioââ¬â¢s shirt. She cried out for her children throughout the night. Come morning, Sisa can be seen smiling and talking to everyone.

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight :: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight - Gawain Finds The Green Knight's Castle PASSAGE ANALYSIS LINES 763-841 Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is an Arthurian story about the first adventure of Sir Gawain (King Arthur's nephew). The author and date of this romance are not exactly known but may be dated circa 1375-1400, because the author seems to be a contemporary of Geoffrey Chaucer. From the very start of the story, the author gives a grand introduction for Arthur and his court, and then Arthur's men are described as "bold boys" (line 21) which means that they are brave, but only boys. If they are so brave why then did the author not describe them as men? Chaucer uses this kind of irony to describe his characters in "The General Prologue" of The Canterbury Tales. Chaucer made no direct judgements on his characters in the "General Prologue," nor does the unknown author of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. This particular passage (lines 763-841) from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight deals primarily with Gawain, Arthur's most courteous and well-mannered knight, finding the castle of the Green Kn ight, whose name is Bercilak, and then there is a lengthy description given of the castle. Gawain is on a journey to find the Green Knight almost one year later. He promised to take his hits from the Green Knight. The most important item in this passage is the description of the castle. Bercilak's castle is well protected and similar to other castles during this period. This castle is unlike others, however, because it is magical and because of its symbolism. Castles in the Middle Ages A Summary of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Analysis of Passage In this particular passage, Gawain is a knight who is on a journey with deep faith in his religion. This is expressed through his fervent prayers to Christ and Mary. No one is here to help him except God who he speaks to and asks to hear mass on Christmas Eve. He humbles himself "meekly before God" in the snow and cold. His prayers are then answered immediately. Bercilak's castle appears out of nowhere, green with trees and grass as if it were springtime. It is almost as if the castle were provided for Gawain by God. He is at Bercilak's court, but of course, does not know this until the end. After praying, he crosses himself three times and then this grand estate appears before him like magic. Genetically modified food â⬠Allergy Essay
Genetically modified foods are becoming more and more used in our community. But, they are not as safe as people presume them to be. Genetically modified foods can cause a big problem in the world, even if it can produce large quantities of foods, it is found that it can cause an allergy to certain foods, many scientists had voted to ban them and there not always labeled that itââ¬â¢s a GMO. Therefore, they should be abolished within the world. To start off, the fact that there is a chemical that is produced that can cause allergic reactions to some people. The scientist had stated that the chemical is safe to use: ââ¬Å"But the biotech companies and the Environmental Protection Agencyââ¬âwhich regulates plant produced pesticidesââ¬âtell us not to worry. They contend that the pesticide called Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) is produced naturally from a soil bacterium and has a history of safe use. â⬠(Smith). The counter argument was proof that this chemical is actually not safe to use, it can make a person sicker than presumed. Jeffery Smith stated: ââ¬Å"Repeated exposure via inhalation can result in sensitization and allergic response in hypersensitive individuals. â⬠So much for the contention that Bt does not interact with humans. â⬠(Smith). I have been allergic to onions since I was twelve years old, this could be caused by the chemical Bt. If the Scientists saying that is drug is harmless theyââ¬â¢re wrong because itââ¬â¢s been proven that this chemical can cause an increase in allergies. Therefore, maybe if we had all natural food growths than maybe I could eat onions now. That is why GMOââ¬â¢s should be abolished. There are so many GMOs that are not even labeled as that how people ever know what their eating if itââ¬â¢s not labeled. Itââ¬â¢s the people have a right to know whatââ¬â¢s going in there body. Without sharing that information itââ¬â¢s bad for the people to trust anything that is not farmers. Granted some people donââ¬â¢t care, but there are people who do. In an article by Peter Sand he states: ââ¬Å"Hence, in CCFL sessions since 1997,57 the EU and other food importers such as Norway consistently argued that the declared primary purpose of their GM food labeling regulations is not a health risk warning, but information to enable consumers to exercise their freedom of choice. â⬠(Sand) Itââ¬â¢s not that the food is completely unsafe that is the problem of not telling them that itââ¬â¢s genetically modified, the problem is that itââ¬â¢s breaking some freedom laws. If a person doesnââ¬â¢t knows about anything how they can make any decision about it. And my final point is that even scientist in some countries signed a petition to ban GMOs from their country. A letter was presented at the World Trade Organization conference in Seattle in 1999. Ed Ayres stated that: ââ¬Å"ââ¬â¢The letter expresses ââ¬Å"extreme concernâ⬠about the hazards of GMOs to biodiversity, food safety, and human and animal health, and recommends a global moratorium on environmental releases of GMOs ââ¬Å"in accordance with the precautionary principleâ⬠â⬠(Ayres). So even some scientists would like to ban GMOs, How can that make any sense if all GMOs are safe why do scientists want to ban them. When many people whom specialize in that field donââ¬â¢t want it in the country why should any average citizen of any country. It should be abolished if even the people creating it say it should be banned. Not to mention they want to ban it for the safety of people and animals. In conclusion, genetically modified foods cause an increasing problem with the allergy rate increasing, scientist wanting to ban them, and not even telling anyone that they are genetically modified. This could lead to a bigger problem with in the world and it should be stopped now. Genetically modified foods should be abolished within the world.

On Learning to Be an Indian
If you are going to choose between Simpatico and Rose, what will you choose? We know that Simpatico and Rose has its own identification and different structure but they also have similarities, they have stem, leaves and they are both flowers, right? It's like an Indian Culture and Philippine Culture, they have its own identification, different traditions and different cultures but they also have similarities on it. But first, did you know the difference of culture and tradition? What is culture? What is tradition? In India, praying at 5 o'clock in the morning and sang the hymns of the day at that time is their culture, it's like ââ¬Å"Angelusâ⬠praying at 6 o'clock in the morning or 12 o'clock in the afternoon in the Catholics in the Philippine tradition; ash and smeared on forehead in Indian culture is like ââ¬Å"Ash Wednesday' tradition in the Philippines; if you committed innumerable offenses like eating beef and other offenses, you may lost your right in both religion (Hind uism) and caste have similarities in Giggles in Crisis who are not allowed to eat ââ¬Å"Dingusâ⬠and Muslims who are not allowed to eat eats (tradition in the Philippines); has hospitality to the visitors is also the same in Philippine culture; has a ââ¬Å"betrothal ceremony' has a similarity in courting before the agreement to be married, in the Philippine culture; in Indian culture, the oldest woman in the house became the head of the family.Philippine culture, the father is the head of the family; in Indian culture, the bride must learn all the household chores, etc. S same of the culture of the Philippines but if you're rich and can afford servants or maids, the servants/maid will do the chores for you; And in India there was a prejudice not only against inter-caste marriages but against inter- community too but the Philippines doesn't have that type of culture, and I'm proud to say that, that we have a democratic country and we can do, choose what we want. It's seen that every culture has similarity to other culture/tradition of other country and some cultures or traditions have differences. Maybe the method of the culture or the way they do it makes it unique to others, and because of this uniqueness, the country may became famous and may influence other culture.

Canada Water Trade Issue essays
The US/Canada Water Trade Issue essays Canada is a country with vast spaces, forests, rich mineral deposits, and most importantly, an unlimited supply of water. In many places worldwide, water is a luxury, namely in the Southwest United States. Water plays an important role in both Canada and the US, as they share the status of top consumers of water in the world. Despite the fact that everyone needs water, a controversy has risen in Canada as the US is requesting the export of their bulk water systems to the arid regions of their country. With Canadas attempt to ban the massive exports to the US, as it may be the key to tomorrows economy. Many say that wars in the future will be fought in the future, and that water will be the oil of the 21st century. (Water) Also, Canadians have a growing concern of the fact that if bulk water sales start, they will be unstoppable, and possibly lead to a shortage of water in Canada. Furthermore, Canada is concerned with the unknown environmental consequences, which could come about in the removal of water from their sources. Not only will the removal of water cause possible damage, but the supplying of water to the US could cause them to abstain from putting their funds toward better conserving the arid regions. On the other hand, the US argues that many jobs could be created in the extraction of water from Canadas vast sources. They also argue that much of Canadas water supply is located in the northern areas, free of any human activity. Also, with the import of water from Canada, the US southwest arid areas may decrease the threat of global warmings effects. From the perspective of the US, the importing of Canadas water would have various benefits to the arid regions. If Canada were to export their water to the US, there would be more environmental damage to the US as a whole, than to their arid regions. The reason for this being because the export of water from Canad...

The Hamlet Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
The Hamlet - Research Paper Example Imaginative thinking is very important to literature. Of course, the film medium is a form of literature, so, imagination also comes in handy. When William Shakespeare wrote ââ¬Å"Hamletâ⬠, it is very certain that he put a whole lot of imaginative thought into it (Shakespeare & Constance). In both versions of Hamletââ¬â¢s adaptationââ¬âFranco Zeffirellis 1990 film starring Mel Gibson and Michael Almereydas 2000 version, the directors, as well as the actors, have been very creative as far as interpreting the play is concerned. Michael Almereydaââ¬â¢s version is the ââ¬Ëmarriageââ¬â¢ of the past and the contemporary. The question that this version probably raises in the mind of many viewers is whether this ââ¬Ëmarriageââ¬â¢ was worth it after all; whether this union has yielded any positive fruit. Like Shakespeare does in most of his plays, Michael Almereyda makes an attempt to make use of, not only a story that viewers are familiar, but he adopts a setting ââ¬â in terms of place and time ââ¬â that they are familiar with. He makes use of the present day New York. Unlike what obtains in Shakespeareââ¬â¢s Hamlet, Michael Almereyda prefers to make Denmark a high profile media corporation, rather than interpreting it to be a country. If he (the director) had not intended to change anything in the play, he would certainly have left Denmark as a country that it is in Shakespeareââ¬â¢s version. Perhaps the only feature of this version by Almereyda that has not changed particularly is the language. The original Shakespearian language that was used by William Shakespeare himself is maintained. The choice of Shakespearian English for a screenplay set in the twenty first century seems to be an anomaly. As with some other features of the screenplay, the author seems to be pleading to the viewers that they suspend every sense of verisimilitude they possess.
